Ingredients

  • 10 - baking apples, pared, cored and sliced
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter, no substitues
  • SYRUP
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 - lemon, juiced

How To Make apple brown betty

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Step 2
    Arrange slices in the bottom of a 9X12 inch baking pan
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle with cinnamon
  • Step 4
    Mix flour and brown sugar together. Cut in butter until crumbly and set aside
  • Step 5
    SYRUP: Combine the ingredients for syrup and stir until well blended.
  • Step 6
    Drizzle half of the syrup over the apples.
  • Step 7
    Top with butter crumb mixture and pour the remaining syrup on top.
  • Step 8
    Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
