This is one of my favorite recipes that I found online and then modified. You can also prepare and bake at 325 degrees in an oven for 30-45 minutes. I hope you enjoy it as much as my friends and family do! It tastes very authentic as my friends and family in Louisiana love it!

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 3 large
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 1/4 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 c
    golden raisins
  • 1/2 c
    butterscotch chips
  • 1 c
    pecans, in pieces
  • 2 medium
    loves plain french bread, cubed
  • GLAZE

  • 1/3 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp
    dark rum or whiskey

How to Make Cajun Crock Pot Bread Pudding

Step-by-Step

  1. Spray 4-quart Crock Pot. In a large bowl, thoroughly whisk together eggs, brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  2. Add heavy cream, milk, vanilla, and melted butter. Add in cubes of bread until they are mostly coated.
  3. Carefully fold in raisins, butterscotch chips, and pecans. Pour into Crock Pot. Cover and cook on low in Crock Pot for 2 hours, until center is firm.
  4. Pour into a 13x9 inch baking dish and pack down a bit with wooden spoon. Pour on glaze (optional). Serve and enjoy!
  5. For glaze: Mix together cream, sugar, and butter in a small pot and cook over medium heat until melted. Do not boil. Remove from heat and add rum or whiskey. Pour over bread pudding.
