I made this recipe ALL OF THE TIME when I was first married. I think it came from a Bisquick cookbook. It's economical and has a rich smooth taste. I always served it with a dollop of whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon for garnish.

prep time 5 Min
cook time 30 Min
method Stove Top
yield 3-4 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cups milk

How To Make bisquick chocolate pudding

  • Step 1
Combine the baking mix, sugar and cocoa in a large saucepan, breaking up large clumps of baking mix. It's ok if some clumps remain.
  • Step 2
Gradually add water and milk, stirring constantly.
  • Step 3
Place over medium high heat and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
  • Step 4
Boil and stir for one minute.
  • Step 5
Refrigerate, put plastic wrap directly on surface of pudding while chilling to prevent film from forming.
  • Step 6
Serve garnished with whipped cream and cinnamon if desired.
