How to Make Awesome Bread Pudding

Step-by-Step

  1. Break 4 pieces bread (approx. 1 inch) into bottom of 2 quart baking dish. Lay in fruit (peaches or raisins or dried cranberries) then break the last 3 pieces of bread on top. Cover all the fruit if possible. Combine milk, cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla & 1 tsp cinnamon in large mixing bowl. Pour mixture over bread and press down with fork to make sure all bread is saturated. Top with 2 tbs butter and then sprinkle cinnamon sugar mix over the top. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Bake at 375 for one (1) hour or until a knife comes out clean. It will puff up real big when baked, then as it cools it will collapse, leaving the top very crispy!
  3. As it cools, take medium sauce pan and melt 1/2 stick butter, stir in flour to make roux. Whisk in evaporated milk and sugar. Add vanilla after it comes to a boil. Whisk constantly over low heat till thick.
  4. Serve warm!!
    Enjoy!
