- 1/2 stick butter, cold
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make awesome bread pudding
-
Step 1Break 4 pieces bread (approx. 1 inch) into bottom of 2 quart baking dish. Lay in fruit (peaches or raisins or dried cranberries) then break the last 3 pieces of bread on top. Cover all the fruit if possible. Combine milk, cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla & 1 tsp cinnamon in large mixing bowl. Pour mixture over bread and press down with fork to make sure all bread is saturated. Top with 2 tbs butter and then sprinkle cinnamon sugar mix over the top. Let sit for 15 minutes.
-
Step 2Bake at 375 for one (1) hour or until a knife comes out clean. It will puff up real big when baked, then as it cools it will collapse, leaving the top very crispy!
-
Step 3As it cools, take medium sauce pan and melt 1/2 stick butter, stir in flour to make roux. Whisk in evaporated milk and sugar. Add vanilla after it comes to a boil. Whisk constantly over low heat till thick.
-
Step 4Serve warm!! Enjoy!
