  • 1 1/2 c
    cooked mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground mace
  • 3/4 tsp
  • 2
    beaten eggs
  • 1 can(s)
    13 oz. evaporated milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter or margarine, melted
  • 1
    standard 9" pie shell, unbaked

How to Make Sweet Potato Pie


  1. Boil sweet potatoes until cooked. Mix all ingredients together and pour into pie shell (or if you use your own pastry recipe, roll to 1/8" thick).
  2. Bake in pre-heated oven at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake an additional 25 minutes or until potato custard sets.
  3. Cool.
