Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 - unbaked 9 inch pastry shell

How To Make sweet potato pie

  • Step 1
    In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs; mix well.
  • Step 2
    Add milk, sweet potatoes, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; mix well.
  • Step 3
    Pour into pie shell.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees; bake 35-40 minutes longer or until a knife inserted near center comes out clean.
  • Step 5
    Cool. Store in refrigerator.
