You won't believe how delicious, easy, and inexpensive this dessert is! My Mom, Doris St. John got it from a newspaper many years ago. She has passed away, but along with many more great recipes she gave me, she left this this most excellent one.

Ingredients
- 3 - egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup walnuts (chopped)
- 16 - finely crushed saltine crackers
- 1 teaspoon baking powder

Step 11. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 22. Beat egg whites and vanilla until foamy.

Step 33. Gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating to stiff peaks.

Step 44. Mix together nuts, crackers and baking powder.

Step 55. Fold into egg whites.

Step 66. Spread into greased 9 inch pie plate.

Step 77. Bake about 40 minutes or until dry on outside.

Step 8Slice like a pie. Serve warm or let cool.

Step 9Delicious on its own, but may top with strawberries or other fruit and whipped cream. Enjoy!
