Ingredients

crust
2 c
all purpose flour
6 Tbsp
shortening
2 Tbsp
butter
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
sugar
1/3 c
ice water

FILLING

1 c
sugar
1 1/4 c
dark corn syrup
4
eggs
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla
2 c
chopped pecans
1/4 c
butter

How to Make PECAN PIE

Step-by-Step

  • 1PIE CRUST
    Mix all ingredients together form in a ball. Roll ball out onto a floured surface and place into a 9 inch pie pan.
  • 2PIE FILLING
    In sauce pan on low heat, cook sugar and corn syrup for about 2 min. take off heat in stir in butter set aside.
  • 3In large bowl beat eggs and add vanilla. Slowly pour the sugar mixture into the eggs while stirring constantly until blended.
  • 4Place the chopped pecans on the bottom of the uncooked pie crust and pour your mixture over the pecans.
  • 5Bake at 350 for 55 minutes. If your pie pan is thinner then bake for about 45 minutes.
    I used a ceramic pie pan.
