JUST FOUND THIS RECIPE AMONG MY MANY RECIPES. THIS WAS GIVEN TO ME BY A NEIGHBOR NICOLE MANY MANY YEARS AGO. SHE SAID IT WAS VERY EASY TO MAKE, THO I NEVER TRIED IT. ANYTIME I WANTED A PIE OR PIE CRUST MADE HER DAUGHTERS ALWAYS MADE THEM FOR ME. THEY DID VERY WELL MAKING THEM. THEY SAID THE SECRET IS TO WORK FAST AND NOT HANDLE THE DOUGH TOO MUCH.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup crisco [shortening]- room temperature
- 5/6 tablespoon ice water

Step 1THIS MAKES 2 SINGLE CRUSTS OR FOR A DOUBLE CRUST PIE.

Step 2MIX FLOUR AND SALT TOGETHER.

Step 3CUT IN SHORTENING WITH A PASTRY CUTTER UNTIL SMALL PEAS ARE FORMED.

Step 4SPRINKLE WITH 5/6 TBSP. ICE WATER; GATHER DOUGH UP FAST INTO A BALL---DO NOT HANDLE IT TOO MUCH.

Step 5DIVIDE IN HALF; ROLL OUT QUICKLY BETWEEN WAX PAPER.
