maple cream pie
I love cream pies! All cream pies. This has to be my favorite. I topped with walnuts, what goes better with maple then walnuts ;) Recipe given and made with Me by a pastry chef Denise.

Ingredients
- 6 - egg yolks
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup corn starch
- - pinch of salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted
- WHIPPING CREAM
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
How To Make maple cream pie

Step 1Use a store bought pie shell or Your own recipe. Bake according to recipe.

Step 2In a stand mixer with the whisk attachment combine the egg yolks,maple syrup, cornstarch & salt. Whisk till smooth and a pale yellow. In a large sauce pan combine cream,milk, & vanilla bring to simmer.

Step 3With the mixer on medium, slowly (carefully) add the warmed cream mix till combined. Transfer the mix back into saucepan and hand whisk constantly on medium low until the mix thickens to a mayo consistency.Remove from heat and add butter and hand whisk til incorporated. Pour into the cooled pie crust. cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate till cooled.

Step 4To finish, with mixer and whisk attachment add cream, maple syrup, & mascarpone and whisk to stiff peaks. Remove plastic from cooled pie and spread the whipped cream across the pie with spatula. Decorate with cream and add walnuts for garnish or some maple cookies whole or crushed. Delish!!!!
