incredible buttermilk pie
This is my friend, Nancy's, recipe & she got it from her friend, Mary. I don't care for buttermilk pie, but a lot of my friends & family LOVE it. And from what everyone tells me this is the BEST buttermilk pie they ever had. I've tried several different recipes & they are never as good as this one. It's really easy, just takes time in the oven to let the center set. FYI - a professional organization I was in used to have a bake sale every year & this was the most requested pie every year.

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 - eggs, slightly beaten
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 dash ground nutmeg
How To Make incredible buttermilk pie

Step 1Cream butter and sugar together.

Step 2Add buttermilk and eggs to sugar mixture and mix well by hand.

Step 3Add flour, vanilla and nutmeg. Mix together.

Step 4Pour into 9 inch pie pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until center is firm. (My oven takes about 70 minutes)

Step 5HEALTHIER OPTIONS - Sugar can be substituted with 1 cup of Stevia OR 2 cups of Truvia Baking Blend OR 2 cups of Sugar in the Raw. Use organic whole grain pie crust or organic gluten free pie crust.

Step 6GLUTEN FREE VERSION - use Gluten Free pie crust & gluten free flour for filling.
