Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon gelatin, unflavored
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 - egg yolks beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavey whipping cream whipped
  • - nutmeg
  • 1 - pie shell, baked
  • 1 dash bourbon

How To Make eggnog pie

  • Step 1
    Soak gelatin in cold water.
  • Step 2
    Scald milk in a double boiler. In a pan combine sugar, cornstarch and salt, add milk. Cook until thick.
  • Step 3
    Stir in beaten egg yolks and cook a few more minutes. Add gelatin and butter. Let cool. Add vanilla (this is when I also add 1-2Tblsp of bourbon) Fold in whipped cream.
  • Step 4
    Pour in pie shell, sprinkle with nutmeg and chill. Serve with a dab of cool whip.
