this is a family favorite for christmas and thanksgiving

depends on how you slice it


  • 1 tsp
    gelatin, unflavored
  • 1 Tbsp
    cold water
  • 1 c
  • 1/2 c
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 3
    egg yolks beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    heavey whipping cream whipped
  • ·
  • 1
    pie shell, baked
  • 1 dash(es)

How to Make Eggnog Pie


  1. Soak gelatin in cold water.
  2. Scald milk in a double boiler. In a pan combine sugar, cornstarch and salt, add milk. Cook until thick.
  3. Stir in beaten egg yolks and cook a few more minutes. Add gelatin and butter. Let cool. Add vanilla (this is when I also add 1-2Tblsp of bourbon) Fold in whipped cream.
  4. Pour in pie shell, sprinkle with nutmeg and chill. Serve with a dab of cool whip.
