Haven't made this pie in awhile I forgot how easy it is. It's one of my family favorites.

Ingredients

baked pie shell
3 large
egg yolks
3 Tbsp
corn starch [heaping]
1 c
sugar
3 c
milk
2 c
coconut

MERINGUE

5
egg whites
1 tsp
cream of tarter
1 tsp
vinilla
1/2 c
sugar

How to Make Coconut Cream Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1In sauce pan mix first 4 ingredience
  • 2Cook stiring constantly over medium heat till thick.
  • 3Remove from heat add 2 Tablespoons butter and1 teaspoon vinilla. Stir cover with film let cool. Add coconut.
  • 4Pour into baked pie shell
  • 5Mix meringue ingredients with electric mixer till stiff peaks form.
  • 6Arrange on top of pie. Sprinkle with coconut. Bake at 350 degrees till light brown.
