Ingredients

  • 2 - unbaked pie shells
  • 2 sticks butter, room temperature
  • 3 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 6 - eggs
  • 14 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 10 ounces buttermilk

How To Make chocolate buttermilk pie

  • Step 1
    Combine sugar and butter and mix until well blended.
  • Step 2
    Beat in the eggs and mix well. Combine and whisk the flour, cocoa, and salt until mixed then add to the butter mixture.
  • Step 3
    Add buttermilk and vanilla to the mixture.
  • Step 4
    pour into pie shells and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool completely before cutting. Store left over pie in the refrigerator.
