"butter dump cake" and a 2for 1 cake

This cake,has to be the simplest cake going!. With a 5 minute prep time, 2 cans of fruit (your choice)and 1 box cake & 2 sticks of butter sliced on top! Just a small piece will satisfy your sweet tooth!! Ice cream is the perfect companion to this cake. I have heard of dump cakes but this is the first one I have ever baked! The possibilities are endless!! Recipe was giving verbally to me from a friend. Any canned fruit can be used. I can hardly wait to bake a blueberry and peach one. YUMMY!! Nancy. 8/1/14

Ingredients For "butter dump cake" and a 2for 1 cake

  • 1 can
    pie not drain
  • 1 can
    crushed not drain
  • 1 box
    white or yellow cake mix ...(do not add eggs oil or water)!
  • 2 stick
    butter...(1/2 a pound) for top of cake

How To Make "butter dump cake" and a 2for 1 cake

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine canned crushed pineapple and canned cherry pie filling into a 9x13 baking dish.

    2. Mix well.

    3.Sprinkle the whole bag of cake mix over the top of fruit.

    4.Top the cake with two sticks of butter, sliced. Like in the picture. Do not mix!
    5.Bake 50-60 minutes.

    6.Let cool then cut and serve.
    7. Great with ice cream!

    8. Maybe you would like to ... keep the pineapple on one half in the baking dish and the other half side with the cherry. Then you could serve either the pineapple or a cherry slice! Just saying!! Like a 2 for 1 cake.
