apple custard pie
This was my grandmothers recipe....she would bake these the night before. We would always come home from church and have a big meal.

Ingredients
- 1 - unbaked 9" pie crust
- 6 cups apples slices (4 or 5 cooking apples)
- 3 tablespoons regular all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cimmamon
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 3/4 cup light cream or milk
- dash nutmeg
How To Make apple custard pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large bowl, sprinkle apple slices with flour, salt, cinnamon, and 3/4 cup sugar. Toss until well coated.

Step 2Place apple slices in overlapping circles in pie crust. In a small bowl, beat together eggs, light cream, 1/4 cup sugar and nutmeg. Pour over apple slices.

Step 3Cover loosely with foil. Bake 45 minutes, remove foil, and continue to bake 30 minutes longer or until knife inserted in custard comes out clean.
