amish custard pie
I was given this recipe from an old Amish neighbor...she always shared her yummy recipes with me, and I was always glad to receive them...enjoy!

1 - 9 inch deep dish pie
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup sugar - (i always add an extra 1/2 tablespoon )
- 2 teaspoons all purpose flour
- 3 cups milk
- 3 - eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 - unbaked pie shell i cheated and used store bought - never again...lol
How To Make amish custard pie

Step 1Combine sugar, flour, salt and eggs, vanilla and mix until smooth.

Step 2Heat milk to boiling point. Add 1 cup hot milk to egg mixture. Pour that into the remaining hot milk.

Step 3Pour into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle pie with nutmeg. Sometimes I use cinnamon.

Step 4Bake at 350 degrees F. for 45-60 minutes.
