Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 - egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 4 - egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecans,optional

How To Make pudding bar

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees and grease 8x8 baking dish.
  • Step 2
    Cream the butter and sugar.Add single egg yolk and vanilla and beat till fluffy.
  • Step 3
    Add the flour and the salt and blend till just combined.Refrigerate dough for 15 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Flour hands and press the dough 1/4 inch thick on bottom and up the sides about 1 inch of baking dish. Put in frigerator while preparing filling.
  • Step 5
    Filling; Combine sugar and cornstarch and mix well. Beat 4 egg yolks 5 minutes till fluffy.
  • Step 6
    Add cornstarch mixture and mix till combined. Add vanilla,whipping cream,chocolate chips and nuts and blend well.
  • Step 7
    Pour into baking dish and bake 55-60 minutes. Let cool and chill.
