butter, softened
1/4 c
sugar

egg yolk
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
all purpose flour
1/8 tsp
salt
1/2 c
sugar
1 Tbsp
corn starch
4
egg yolks
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
whipping cream
1 c
milk chocolate chips
1 c
pecans,optional

How to Make Pudding Bar

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees and grease 8x8 baking dish.
  • 2Cream the butter and sugar.Add single egg yolk and vanilla and beat till fluffy.
  • 3Add the flour and the salt and blend till just combined.Refrigerate dough for 15 minutes.
  • 4Flour hands and press the dough 1/4 inch thick on bottom and up the sides about 1 inch of baking dish. Put in frigerator while preparing filling.
  • 5Filling; Combine sugar and cornstarch and mix well. Beat 4 egg yolks 5 minutes till fluffy.
  • 6Add cornstarch mixture and mix till combined. Add vanilla,whipping cream,chocolate chips and nuts and blend well.
  • 7Pour into baking dish and bake 55-60 minutes. Let cool and chill.
