we like these with either apricot or raspberry preserves

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 3/4 sticks butter at room temperature
  • 1 jar 10-12 oz. apricot or raspberry preserves

How To Make jam bars

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients except the preserves. Press one half of this mixture into a buttered 8 inch square pan or a small rectangular pan.
  • Step 2
    Spread with a 10-12 ounce jar of preserves
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle second half of the mixture over the top of the preserves and pat lightly.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes or until light brown. Let cool completely and then cut into squares. Taste yummy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream when still warm from the oven.
