  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 3/4 stick
    butter at room temperature
  • 1 jar(s)
    10-12 oz. apricot or raspberry preserves

How to Make Jam Bars


  1. Mix all ingredients except the preserves. Press one half of this mixture into a buttered 8 inch square pan or a small rectangular pan.
  2. Spread with a 10-12 ounce jar of preserves
  3. Sprinkle second half of the mixture over the top of the preserves and pat lightly.
  4. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes or until light brown. Let cool completely and then cut into squares.

    Taste yummy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream when still warm from the oven.
