honey pecan sundae sauce

Family had these delicious Sundaes last night for dessert. Needless to say no topping left...LOL! I love the crunchiness of the toasted pecans in this topping...Delish!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup pecan pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • pinch - salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla or rum extract
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

How To Make honey pecan sundae sauce

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Place pecan pieces on a sheet pan and bake for 15 minutes. Set aside
  • Step 2
    In a medium saucepan, melt butter. Stir in the honey, extract, flour and salt. Bring heat to simmer and continue cooking for 5 minutes. Remove from burner and leave cool.
  • Step 3
    Once honey mixture is cool, mix in the heavy cream and pecans. This topping will become thicker as it sets. Spoon over vanilla ice cream, add some whipped cream and a cherry & you have a delicious treat!
