I enjoy these bars, they're kind of tart, yet also kind of sweet. I love the combination of the apples and strawberry gelatin in the bars.

Ingredients
- CRUST:
- 1/2 cup - butter, softened
- 1-1/4 cups - flour
- 1 tsp. - baking powder
- 1 cup - milk
- 1 - egg
- FILLING:
- 4 cups - apple slices
- 1 (3 oz.) - box strawberry gelatin
- TOPPING:
- 1 cup - flour
- 3/4 cup - sugar
- 1/2 cup - butter, softened
How To Make apple bars

Step 1Mix the crust ingredients together, then press the crumb mixture into a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.

Step 2For the filling: Arrange apple slices over the crust mixture, then sprinkle the strawberry gelatin over the apple slices.

Step 3For the topping: Mix the flour, sugar, and butter together until crumbly, then sprinkle on top the apple filling.

Step 4Bake in a 350º oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

Step 5Cool completely.

Step 6Refrigerate for several hours, before cutting into bars.
