Every time I think of ice cream made in an ice cream churn, I think of 4th of July :-) I also remember my father and uncle sitting on MaMa's porch churning ice cream with a hand crank churn, glad it wasn't me! I love modern technology!!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 - eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 can evaporated milk
- - whole milk or half and half to add to fill line
- - rock salt
- - bag of ice
- 1 cup fruit of choice (optional)-chopped
How To Make home made vanilla ice cream (fruit optional)

Step 1Cream the sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add the evaporated milk. Mix well. Pour into ice cream churn. Add Milk to fill line. Churn the ice cream .

Step 2*****Note--if adding fruit of choice, increase sugar to 2 cups and blend fruit into the mixture before pouring into ice cream churn. Then add milk to fill line*** I myself love some peach ice cream :-) It is so refreshing!!
