I have not tried this recipe,I received it in an email today and it sounds great,I won't have to drag out the ice cream freezer,and if I remember to make it the day before I want it,it would be ready.I would add vanilla for sure and maybe some fruit sometimes.(you see,I'd be making it often)
FLAVOR OPTIONS: VANILLA: TO THE UN-WHIPPED “BATTER,” ADD THE SCRAPED PULP OF ONE WHOLE VANILLA BEAN POD AND 1 TSP OF VANILLA EXTRACT. COFFEE: TO THE UN-WHIPPED “BATTER,” ADD 1/2 SPOONFUL OF INSTANT COFFEE AND 1 TSP OF COFFEE EXTRACT.
1Using a stand mixer with the whisk attachment in place, combine ingredients in the bowl and whip on high speed for about 4 minutes. The mixture will come to a soft peak stage. Stir.
Cover with plastic wrap and place the mixing bowl directly in the freezer for about 6 hours. The consistency will be creamy but scoopable.
