1I cooked the yams in the microwave for about 10 minutes, peeled them and sliced. Then I peeled the apples and pears and put them in a large mixing bowl with yams.
2Then I added the spices, raisins, pecans and uncooked cranberries, and brown sugar. Stir well to make sure fruit is covered with brown sugar, you may want to add more brown sugar according to your taste.
3Then place all of this in casserole dish that has been buttered. Dot with butter and squeeze juice from one orange over the top, and cook for about 30 minutes. You could also use pineapple instead of pears.
