You can use any can of fruit pie filling. I prefer strawberry or peach, the person who gave me this recipe used cherry.

    butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 4
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
    lemon extract
  • 1 can(s)
    pie filling (your choice)

How to Make Strawberry Squares


  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and eggs with an electric mixer. Add flour, vanilla and lemon extract mixing well.
  2. Spread on a greased 18x12x1 cookie sheet. Score as if cutting cookie squares (not too small). Place a spoonful of pie filling in each square.
  3. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 25-40 minutes. Gently cut squares.
