This is my great Grand Mother's recipe.
She always made these as 8" long strips.

How to Make Perishky


  1. Sift dry ingredients, rub in lard, add slightly beaten egg, milk and cream.
  2. Mix together to make a soft dough, you may need to add a little bit more flour.
  3. Roll out, cut into squares (or long strips) and fill with apples or other fruits.
    Top with 1tsp sugar, or more, depending on taste and a bit of flour.
  4. Fold over and seal.

    Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
