That time of year that apples and cranberries start coming to mind. But, at our house those are things we love year round. Whipped cream or ice cream is an option for toppers, if you desire.

Ingredients

  • 3 c
    apples, peeled, cored andn chopped
  • 2 c
    whole raw cranberries
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/3 c
    quick cooking oats
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter, melted

How to Make Hot Cranberry Apple Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 325F.

    Combine apples and cranberries in oiled 2 quart casserole dish.

    Evenly sprinkle sugar and lemon juice over top of apples.
  2. Add oatmeal, chopped walnuts, brown sugar and melted butter to bedium-sized mixing bowl. Blend until moistened.

    Cover fruit with crumb mixture.
  3. Bake uncovered for 75 minutes.
