    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
    fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    white rum
  • 6 medium
    under-ripe bananas

How to Make Bananas With Rum

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a saucepan, mix the sugar, lemon juice, butter and rum together and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Peel the bananas and slice them in half, lengthwise. Place bananas cut side down, in a buttered baking dish and pour the hot syrup over them.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes at 400°F, turning once. Let cool, and serve slightly warm.
