How to Make Apple Cup Crisp
- Preheat oven to 400*. Prepare crumble: in bowl whisk together flour, oats, 1/3 cup brown sugar, sugar, salt and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut in half stick cold butter which has been cubed using a pastry cutter or two forks until mixture is crumbly. Set aside.
- Peel and chop 4 apples. In frying pan melt remaining half stick butter, 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Add chopped apples and sauté apples 8 to 10 mins or until tender. Remove from heat.
- Slice the top off the remaining four apples and scoop out the flesh. Discard flesh and fill apple cups with the cooked apples. Top with generous amount of crumble on each filled apple. Place on foil lined baking sheet. Bake 10-15 mins or until crumble topping is browned and crisp. Serve with vanilla ice cream and/or caramel sauce if desired.
