Apple Butterscotch Tart
19 inch single crust pastry
5 c5 medium peeled, cored and thinly sliced tart green apples
1 cbutterscotch chips
3/4 call purpose flour
1/2 cpacked brown sugar
1/2 tspground cinnamon
1/4 cbutter, cold
·ice cream or sweetened whipped cream (optional)
How to Make Apple Butterscotch Tart
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 9inch tart pan with pastry and trim away any excess. Arrange apples in pastry shell; sprinkle morsels over apples.
- Combine flour, sugar, and cinnamon in medium bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over filling.
- Bake for 40 to 45 or until apples are tender when pierced with sharp knife. Remove from oven and let cool until it is warm 20 or 30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or sweetened cream.
