tea cake recipe
This brings back memories of my grandma Allie making these for us as kids. I finally combined a couple of recipes that taste like Mama Allie's. This has been a hit with my business Special Katering. This week I'm shipping some to VA and CA!!! Hope you enjoy them!!!!

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
How To Make tea cake recipe

Step 1In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth

Step 2Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla

Step 3Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg in a separate bowl.

Step 4Stir into the creamed mixture, alternate with milk. Start with flour and end with flour.

Step 5Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Step 6Spoon 1/4 inch thick. Place cookies 1 1/2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.

Step 7Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. When edges are brown they are ready. I brown them on broil but you have to watch them.

Step 8Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely .
