soft molasses cookies
I love molasses cookies and obtained this recipe when baking dozens of cookies for our nearest veterans hospital holiday party. Large batches are wonderful when you must serve more than 100 people!

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 - large egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
How To Make soft molasses cookies

Step 1Beat sugar, sour cream, butter, shortening, molasses and egg in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed.

Step 2Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by tablespoonful, 2 inches apart, on lined cookie sheet.

Step 3Bake in 375 degree preheated oven for 9-11 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with sugar while warm. Cool for 1-2 minutes.
