My family loves these. They are so donut-like & so quick & easy to make! A great recipe for kids to help with.

Ingredients

  • 113 g
    butter
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1
    large egg
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla essence
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • COATING:

  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon

How to Make Snickerdoodles (soft & thick)

Step-by-Step

  1. Beat butter until it is creamy (soften in the microwave for 20 seconds if its hard). Add sugar slowly & cream.
  2. Beat in egg & vanilla essence.
  3. Sift in flour, salt, baking soda & cream of tartar & beat to combine.
  4. In a small bowl or cup, combine the extra sugar & cinnamon.
  5. Use a 1 Tablespoon measure to scoop out dough & roll into balls then roll them in the sugar/cinnamon mix to thoroughly coat.
    Place balls on a lined baking sheet, 2" apart.
  6. Bake at 180C for 8-10 minutes.
    They may not look cooked but leave them to cool on the tray & they will firm up.
