snickerdoodles (soft & thick)
My family loves these. They are so donut-like & so quick & easy to make! A great recipe for kids to help with. I'm experimenting with a chocolate version too.. stay tuned!

Ingredients
- 113 grams butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- COATING:
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
How To Make snickerdoodles (soft & thick)

Step 1Beat butter until it is creamy (soften in the microwave for 20 seconds if its hard). Add sugar slowly & cream.

Step 2Beat in egg & vanilla essence.

Step 3Sift in flour, salt, baking soda & cream of tartar & beat to combine.

Step 4In a small bowl or cup, combine the extra sugar & cinnamon.

Step 5Use a 1 Tablespoon measure to scoop out dough & roll into balls then roll them in the sugar/cinnamon mix to thoroughly coat. Place balls on a lined baking sheet, 2" apart.

Step 6Bake at 180C for 8-10 minutes. They may not look cooked but leave them to cool on the tray & they will firm up.
