This recipe started out as Trisha Yearwood's Snickerdoodles, but she uses half butter and half shortening. I like them better with all butter. My family eats these by the dozen.

Yields about 4 dozen cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter softned
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnomon
How To Make snickerdoodles

Step 1In a small bowl mix the cinnamon and the 2 tbsp of sugar and set aside

Step 2Cream the eggs, sugar, and butter with a mixer until fluffy

Step 3Sift the dry ingredients, flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt together

Step 4Add the dry ingredients to the creamed egg, butter and sugar mixture

Step 5Roll the balls in the small bowl of sugar and cinnamon

Step 6Place the coated balls on a baking sheet ( I use parchment paper or a silicone mat)

Step 7Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes (based on your oven) and let cookie cool on the cookie sheet on a rack for 3 minutes then move the cookies directly to a cooling rack for another 10 minutes.

Step 8Store cookies in an air tight container
