This recipe started out as Trisha Yearwood's Snickerdoodles, but she uses half butter and half shortening. I like them better with all butter. My family eats these by the dozen.

Ingredients

1 c
butter softned
1 c
white granulated sugar
2
eggs
2 3/4 c
all purpose flour
2 tsp
cream of tartar
1 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp
fine salt
2 Tbsp
granulated sugar
2 tsp
cinnomon

How to Make Snickerdoodles

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a small bowl mix the cinnamon and the 2 tbsp of sugar and set aside
  • 2Cream the eggs, sugar, and butter with a mixer until fluffy
  • 3Sift the dry ingredients, flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt together
  • 4Add the dry ingredients to the creamed egg, butter and sugar mixture
  • 5Roll the balls in the small bowl of sugar and cinnamon
  • 6Place the coated balls on a baking sheet ( I use parchment paper or a silicone mat)
  • 7Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes (based on your oven) and let cookie cool on the cookie sheet on a rack for 3 minutes then move the cookies directly to a cooling rack for another 10 minutes.
  • 8Store cookies in an air tight container
