I got this wonderful recipe from my friend Kim Webb about 30 years ago. I still make them every Christmas.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
How To Make snickerdoodles

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 derees.

Step 2Mix thoroughly: butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs.

Step 3Blend in flour, cream of tartar. baking soda and salt

Step 4Shape into balls (1 tsp. each)

Step 5Mix 2 Tbsp. sugar and cinnamon. Roll each ball in the cinnamon mixture.

Step 6Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Step 7Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set.

Step 8Remove immediately from cookie sheet and cool on a wire rack.
