Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar (white)
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 36 - marshmellows, large, cut in half
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 2 ounces chocolate, unsweetened, melted, cooled
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
How To Make rocky road cookies

Step 1Mix together 1/2 cup softened butter, sugar, egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla, cocoa, flour, soda, salt, and milk.

Step 2Drop by small teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes, remove from oven, and top with 1/2 marshmellow. Return to oven for 1 minute. Remove from oven and cool.

Step 3Icing: Mix thoroughly together 1/3 cup softened butter, melted chocolate, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla. Beat until smooth and of spreading consistency (add more milk to thin or more confectioners' sugar to thicken). Spread on cookies. Dip into chopped nuts, if desired.
