These are another of my favorite cookies and the recipe was given to me by a neighbor many years ago.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    shortening ( i use 1/2 shortening and 1/2 butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    cloves
  • 1/4 c
    sour milk
  • 2
    eggs
  • 3/4 tsp
    soda
  • 1 3/4 c
    flour
  • 1 1/2 c
    quick oats (oatmeal)
  • 1 c
    raisins
  • 1/2 c
    nuts ( i use walnuts)

How to Make Rob Roy Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Turn on oven at 350*
    cream shortening, brown sugar and eggs.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together and add alternating with milk.
    Add oatmeal, raisins and nuts. Mix well
  3. Using an ice cream scoop or spoon drop cookies on cookie sheet pan.
    Bake for 14 min or until done. Don't over cook.
