Ingredients
- 1 cup persimmon pulp (aprox. 2 persimmons)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 2 cups all purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
How To Make persimmon cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350º

Step 2Press persimmon pulp through a sieve and measure. Dissolve baking soda to pulp.

Step 3In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening, sugar, and egg; mix well.

Step 4Add remaining ingredients and pulp to the creamed mixture; mix well.

Step 5Drop cookie dough by teaspoon onto cookie sheet.

Step 6Bake for 10-12 minutes.
