I am an oatmeal cookie lover ! You can have ALL your boring chocolate chip, or overly sweet sugar cookies ... GIVE ME AN OATMEAL COOKIE ANYDAY !! This recipe makes a nicely spiced, moist, chewy, cookie with plump, sweet, raisins ! MY FAVORITE :)

flour
2 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
salt
3 1/2 c
rolled oats
1 c
sugar
1 1/4 c
brown sugar
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
ground cloves
1/2 tsp
ground nutmeg
1 1/4 c
vegetable shortening
3/4 c
butter
3
eggs
1 Tbsp
vanilla extract
1 1/2 c
raisins, plumped in boiling water, and well drained

How to Make Perfect Oatmeal Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Blend all dry ingredients in mixer for 2 minutes on low speed.
  • 2Add shortening, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix for 1 minute on medium speed until well combined.
  • 3Add plumped, drained, raisins and blend for 30 seconds until raisins are well distributed in dough.
  • 4Drop cookies by tablespoon or cookie scoop onto parchment lined baking sheets.
    Bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees
