These are a variation of recipes I have seen for Mexican Wedding Cookies or Russian Tea Cakes. My Mom made these every Christmas-regardless of the name, they are delicious bite sized treats!

Ingredients For pecan fingers

  • 1/2 lb
    butter, room temperature (2 sticks)
  • 4 Tbsp
    powdered sugar
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    water
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    pecan pieces (small pieces work best)
  • FOR AFTER COOKIES ARE BAKED
  • 1 1/2 c
    powdered sugar

How To Make pecan fingers

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover cookie sheets with parchment paper or grease the cookie sheets.

    Mix all ingredients in a large bow. Mix well. Form dough into 1" fingers or balls.

    Bake for 20-25 minutes (depending on your oven). Let cool 5-7 minutes, then roll cookies in powdered sugar to coat while still warm. Note: I usually roll them twice to get good coverage. Store in covered container in a cool place.
