These are great for a snack with a cup of coffee or tea, or a glass of cold milk. They also make great 'grab and go,' breakfast treats as you head out the door.

Ingredients

  • - 1/2 cup sugar
  • - 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • - 1/2 cup butter
  • - 2 teaspoons grated orange zest
  • - 1/4 cup orange juice
  • - 2 large eggs
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 1 cup oatmeal
  • - 1 cup flour
  • - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 1½ cups dried cranberries
  • - 2/3 cup chopped nuts (i used pecans)

How To Make orange oatmeal cranberry cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 350º F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Step 2
    In a medium bowl, cream together the sugars and butter. Thoroughly whisk in the orange juice, orange zest, vanilla and eggs.
  • Step 3
    Stir in the oatmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix in the dried cranberries and nuts.
  • Step 4
    Spoon tablespoonfuls of batter onto prepared baking sheets.
  • Step 5
    Bake for about 12 minutes or until just beginning to turn brown around the edges. Remove cookies to a wire rack to cool.
