These are great for a snack with a cup of coffee or tea, or a glass of cold milk. They also make great 'grab and go,' breakfast treats as you head out the door.

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 teaspoons grated orange zest
1/4 cup orange juice
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1½ cups dried cranberries
2/3 cup chopped nuts (i used pecans)

How to Make Orange Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies


  • 1Preheat the oven to 350º F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • 2In a medium bowl, cream together the sugars and butter. Thoroughly whisk in the orange juice, orange zest, vanilla and eggs.
  • 3Stir in the oatmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix in the dried cranberries and nuts.
  • 4Spoon tablespoonfuls of batter onto prepared baking sheets.
  • 5Bake for about 12 minutes or until just beginning to turn brown around the edges. Remove cookies to a wire rack to cool.
