napoli cookies
My Grandmom Petrino and Aunt Josey made these cookies for every holiday, as a child I loved them. They were hard, when I started to bake them. I changed it up a little bit and don't bake them as long, they are like little anise cakes melting in your mouth. Great for after dinner with a cup of tea or coffee..I have mine with milk..ENJOY...

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons heaping tsps baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter 1 stick
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 - large egg
- 2 teaspoons anise extract
How To Make napoli cookies

Step 1Combine dry ingredients together and mix, Flour, Baking powder,and salt. Cream butter with sugar well. Add extract and egg.Mix well. Add 1/3 of the flour mixture and mix add 1/3 of milk. Keep mixing flour alternately with milk ending with flour. Drop 1 tsp onto cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake till set but not brown. 350 oven and I bake them 5-7 minutes. Check all ovens differ. Cool on a rack then add icing.

Step 21 cup powdered sugar add 1/4 tsp of Anise extract and 1-2 tsps of milk. You can add a color if you want. Enjoy...These are one of my favorites!!!
