Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp
    ginger, ground
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    molasses
  • 3/4 c
    butter
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 c
    hot coffee

How to Make Molasses Drops

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.
  2. Measure the first 8 ingredients in given order into a mixing bowl. Mix together well.
  3. Stir the baking soda into the hot coffee. Make sure to stir this well as the baking soda does settle at the bottom. Add to the molasses mixture. Mix until thoroughly blended.
  4. Drop by tablespoon onto a parchment papered or greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes in the oven.
