These are a family favorite. They are always requested during holidays, special events and cookie exchanges. They always freeze extremely well and you would never know once they have thawed.

Ingredients

1 c
unsalted butter - softened
1 c
oil (vegitable or canola)
1 c
sugar
1 c
confectioners' (powder) sugar
4 c
all purpose flour
2
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla
1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
cream of tartar
1 tsp
baking soda

How to Make Melt In Your Mouth Sugar Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2Cream together the butter, oil and sugars.
  • 3Add the eggs, one at a time. Then add the vanilla. Mix until nice and fluffy.
  • 4In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, cream of tartar and baking soda.
  • 5Add the flour mix to the butter mix, and combine until fluffy.
  • 6Let the dough rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes or longer.
  • 7Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 8When ready to bake, drop the batter by the tablespoon onto the cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. (A cookie dough scoop works best for perfect, uniform cookies).
  • 9Bake for 9-11 minutes, making sure NOT to let them brown!
