Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup crisco
- 2 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk
How To Make melt in your mouth sugar cookies
-
Step 1Cream sugar and Crisco until light and fluffy, add eggs, baking soda, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Mix well.
-
Step 2Alternate flour and buttermilk. (I usually only use between 5 1/2 -5 3/4 cups of flour). Cover and refrigerate for an hour.
-
Step 3Place dough on floured pastry cloth. Roll to desired thickness. 1/4" makes a good puffed up cookie. Cut out and bake at 350 for 7-9 minutes until just golden brown on the bottom.
