I was looking to make chocolate chip cookies, but wanted something a little different, this is what I came up with. My husband can't get enough of these!

  • 1-1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    melted butter
  • 2 c
    light brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 c
  • 2 large
  • 1
  • 2 tsp
    maple extract
  • 2 c
    chocolate chips, semisweet
  • 3/4 c
    chopped pecans

How to Make Maple flavored chocolate chip-pecan cookies


  1. Heat oven to 375. Lay parchment paper onto cookie sheets. In bowl, whisk together flours, and baking soda. In lg bowl, beat butter w/ both sugars until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and then egg yolk until creamy. Add maple extract. Beat in flour mix as much as possible, then use a lg spoon to mix the rest.
  3. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Chill dough 1 hr for easier scooping. Spoon 1 heaping tbsp mix onto baking sheets, 3" apart. Bake 13-15 mins or until light brown.
