How To Make makin' bacon cookies
-
1Let dough stand at room temperature 5 minutes. Lightly grease or line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 325. Roll out dough between sheets of parchment paper to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out bacon shapes with sharp knife (approximately 3 1/2 inch shapes). Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Refrigerate 15 minutes.
-
2Bake 13 minutes or until set. Cool on cookie sheets 5 minutes. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. Place 1/4 cup water in small bowl. Add red and brown food colorings, a few drops at a time; stir until evenly tinted. Place remaining 1/4 cup water in another small bowl. Add red and yellow food colorings, a few drops at a time; stir until evenly tinted. Paint cookies to resemble bacon with small clean paintbrushes, using as little water as possible for color to saturate. Leave some areas unpainted to resemble bacon fat. Let stand 1 hour or until dry.
