This is a recipe brought from Switzerland by my Grandmother and made by all her sisters as well. To me, it can't be Christmas without Grandmother's Lebkuchen so I usually bake it first. It gets better with age.

Ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup candied citron, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/3 cup honey, warmed
- 3 cups flour
How To Make lebkuchen

Step 1Beat brown sugar & eggs for five minutes in bowl of electric mixer

Step 2Disolve soda in hot honey and add to brown sugar mix

Step 3Add spices to flour and add to brown sugar mix. Then fruit and nuts.

Step 4Mixture will be thick. Pour into jelly roll pan and bake in 325* oven for 25 - 30 minutes.

Step 5When cool, frost with a powdered sugar glaze.
