Ingredients

sifted flour
1/2 tsp
salt
1 1/4 c
butter
1 c
sugar
2
eggs
2 Tbsp
vanilla
1/4 tsp
apricot preserves or any flavored jam or orange marmalade
1/3 c
finely chopped walnuts

How to Make Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Sift flour and salt together.
  • 2Cream butter and gradually add sugar, creaming well.
  • 3Blend in unbeaten eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  • 4Add the dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly.
  • 5Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • 6Dent center of each, using back of teaspoon dipped in cold water.
    Place preserves or jam into center of each.
    Sprinkle with nuts.
  • 7Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
