Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup corn oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350* F. Grease 2 baking sheets or large baking pans with rims.
  • Step 2
    Pour the milk in a small bowl and add the raisins to plump them a little. Measure all the remaining ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Add the milk and mix well.
  • Step 3
    Either spread the dough in a large baking tin; patting it smooth with lightly floured hands, or drop it by spoonfuls onto a baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes.
